Funding Disclosure

Conflicts of Interest, Grant Support, and Financial Disclosure Policy

Commitment to Transparency

The Insights - Journal of Medical and Dental Research (IJMDR) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and transparency in academic publishing. Authors, reviewers, and contributors must fully disclose any potential conflicts of interest (COI), financial support, or affiliations that may influence or appear to influence their work.

Conflict of Interest Disclosure

1. Author Responsibilities

Authors are required to declare any affiliations, relationships, or financial interests that may affect the objectivity of their research. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Employment or consultancy roles with organizations that have an interest in the research findings.
  • Stock ownership, honoraria, or patents (granted or pending).
  • Paid expert testimonies or industry-sponsored travel grants received within the last three years.

If an author has no conflicts of interest, a clear statement confirming this must be included in the manuscript.

2. Reviewer Obligations

To uphold the integrity of the peer review process, reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect their ability to provide an unbiased assessment of a manuscript. If a conflict is identified, the reviewer must recuse themselves from evaluating the submission.

Grant Support & Financial Disclosure

1. Funding Transparency

Authors must explicitly disclose all sources of financial support for their research, including:

  • Research grants and funding agencies.
  • Equipment, materials, or other sponsored resources.

2. Data Integrity & Research Independence

For studies funded by external entities, authors must provide a statement confirming that they had full access to study data and that all analysis, interpretation, and conclusions are their own. This ensures that funding sources do not compromise the credibility of the research.

Publication of Disclosures

To promote trust and transparency, IJMDR will publish all relevant COI statements and financial disclosures alongside the final article. Readers should be fully informed of any potential influences on the research findings.

Ensuring Research Integrity

This policy is designed to:

  • Safeguard the credibility of published research.
  • Maintain transparency in funding and affiliations.
  • Protect the integrity of the peer-review process.

By adhering to these principles, IJMDR reinforces its commitment to ethical publishing, ensuring that all research remains free from undue influence and continues to contribute meaningfully to medical and dental sciences.
